Youth living at Hope House (HH) attend Hope Christian Academy (HCA) a private accredited school located on the HH property. School is held on Monday through Thursday, September through May. Report cards and progress reports are issued quarterly. All students are required to wear a school uniform.
HCA will address any social, emotional, behavioral and learning challenges that may interfere with student academic success. Each student’s academic capabilities and needs will be evaluated and used to establish a Learning Plan and/or a Behavior Plan.
At age 16 or 17, depending on capabilities and academic progress, a determination will be made to decide if the student will continue on a vocational or academic track. Students that need the vocational track will receive classes that are in preparation for job readiness and include life skills training.
Beginning in 2014 Hope Christian Academy paired with the Marsing School District to receive a 21st Century Grant. This grant is being used to provide skills based training to our students. They are and will be learning construction and wood working skills, how to maintain a greenhouse and the proper techniques for growing plants, automotive repair, and arts and design. We have also embraced the Khan Academy strategies and will be using those in both our school day classes as well as our after school program.
